CHIP,was started in Kolkata in 1997 by a group of doctors and educationalists who had a dream to help create a better life for the children of this country. In 2004 CHIP came to Mumbai.

CHIP- Mumbai adopted Pratiksha Nagar School,a BMC school located in Oshiwara Andheri, which has 800 students from standards 1 – 4. CHIP has funded entirely the renovation and total improvements to the school. The mainstreams of the CHIP program and activities are Health,Education,Music and Sports. By tying up with Ecole Mondiale ( World School ), a better standard of education is being provided for the children.Extra-curricular activities like craft, music and dance have also been introduced.CHIP has tied up with other NGOs: Magic Bus and Toy India Foundation,to introduce sports and fun games to the children of the school. With the help of medical camps proper medical services are being provided to all the children.

In the future CHIP is going to implement further programs and expand this adoption program to other BMC schools.
